Bios Beep Means

AMI BIOS Beep Codes
When any part's in computer face problem or damaged , cpu make beep(s) when pc starting . With the beep count , you will know about the falts . In some cpu , bios show the problem by showing error message on monitor .

1 short beep means DRAM refresh failure .
2 short beep means Parity circuit failure .
3 short beep means Base 64k RAM failure .
4 short beep means System timer failure .
5 short beep means Process failure .
6 short beep means Keyboard controller Gate A20 error .
7 short beep means Virtual mode exception error .
8 short beep means Display memory Read/Write test failure .
9 short beep means ROM BIOS checksum failure .
10 short beep means CMOS SHUTDOWN Read/Write error .
11 short beep means Cache Memory error .
1 long and 3 short beep means Conventional/Extended memory failure .
1 long and 8 short beep means Display/Retrace test failure .


AWARD BIOS Beep Codes
1 long and 2 short beep indicates a video error has occurred . The BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information .
If any other beep(s) thats mean RAM problem .
If any other correctable hardware issues , the BIOS will display a message in monitor .


IBM BIOS Beep Codes
1 short beep means computer is working perfectly .
2 short beep means need to review screen for error code .
1 long and 1 short beep means motherboard problem .
1 long and 2 short beep means video problem like CGA/MONO display Circuitry .
1 long and 3 short beep means video problem like EGA display Circuitry .
3 long beeps means keyboard or Keyboard card error .
Continuous or Repeating short beep means no power , Short or Loose card .
