Disable System Restore

If you Disable System Restore, you can gain a lot of drive space.

What is System Restore: On Windows Operating System has a feature called System Restore that automatically backs up system files and registry whenever you install new drivers/software or change any settings.

How To Disable System Restore:

In Windows XP -
1. Click on Start, right click on My Computer, and then click on Properties.
2. In the System Properties dialog box, click on the System Restore tab.
3. Click to select the "Turn off System Restore" check box.
Or, click to select the "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
4. Click on OK.
5. In the warning message appears answer Yes.


In Windows 7 -
1. Click on Start then Right Click on Computer and select Properties.
2. Open System Protection tab on the left pane.
3. In System Protection tab, click on Configure.
4. Click to select the "Turn off System Protection" check box.
Now press Ok.
5. In the warning message appears answer Yes . . . . .
